MY BIOGRAPHY

I was born on 1st May 1974 in Moinești or Dada City, after the name of Tristan Tzara - the founder of Dadaism, born in the same city in 1896. Moinești comes from the word moină, which means "a piece of land prepped for seeding" or "light rainy weather" in Romanian language. This area of Romania has a rich heritage of writers such as novelist Mihail Sadoveanu, Romanian national poet Mihai Eminescu, poet Vasile Alecsandri and Ion Creangă, a beloved story-teller of the 19th century. Moinești once had a large Jewish community and such a bucolic city was also known as Mojnescht. My father, a Transylvanian born university lecturer and my mother, artist and interior designer, moved from the respective regions of the country to the capital, Bucharest where my sister and I grew up. My timeline introduces few pictures from past years.

Studies

Despite being literally passionate, through a rigorous upbringing I followed my father's footprints getting a MSc in Engineering & Pedagogy. In 1998 after my marriage and our move to England, I pursued an earlier interest and studied for a  degree in Management. I subsequently acquired an MBA from Open University Business School in 2005. September 2017 had seen me once again focused on academia. Pursuing my love of words, I commenced my third Master, in Arts, at the University of Surrey, a step towards a PhD in Literature and Creative Writing. It was during this time that I realised the source of perennial knowledge resides beyond the written word and stopped the MA. I have decided to endorse and share my own research, studies and experiences  on consciousness, mysticism and other subjects via lectures and teachings. Some of these topics are pointed at in my points on important matters. Excitingly these will continue to expand.

Career

For a great chunk of my career I worked in technology in global organisations, IT, sales & delivery management. Having a natural entrepreneurial spirit when not employed in corporates, I directed several start-ups including my own real estate consultancy firm that successfully ran for 5 years. In 2010 I founded an online Academy for the future of education. My first book published in 2013 and two years later I launched a quarterly online magazine, Monad, focused on integral education. In 2019 my second book was published and was awarded the Mihai Eminescu Poetry Prize by the DacoRomanian Academy during the Gaudeamus Book Festival. I am an active member of the OUBS MBA Alumni, PwC Alumni, Royal Society for Literature and The Poetry Society.

My vision

I view creativity and the ability to write and hold magic and awe that can inspire others, to be a formidably high calling. To be able to enthuse others to go beyond the visible has awakened as a child in me and has remained a continuous quest and personal aspiration of mine in everything I do. It is from this place in my heart that I write poetry, articles or choose a topic for a speech or the theme of a course.
